Intro: welcome & what to expect

'Can I be with that?' makes a soft debut with an intro to your host (hey hi, it's me) and what you can expect from future episodes ♡

Hello & welcome, sweet one. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been behind a mic, and an even hotter one since I’ve been behind my own mic, for my own show.

Back in 2016(ish?), some of you know I hosted a podcast called Well + Weird. It was a piece of my heart, it was a creative flame. It grew me and stretched me beyond what I thought were my limits. It introduced me to so many amazing people. It brought me so many amazing clients. It was cherished, to me and many others. It was also a lot.

When I stepped back into coaching late last year, a handful of folks quickly asked whether or not I’d bring the podcast back. My gut response was heck no. Because my body was still carrying the weight of how much work it was, how much capacity it required of me to podcast well and coach well; how many hours spent behind my screen handling all the coordinative bits that make a podcast possible.

I had a conversation with a dear friend the other day and she lovingly gushed about how much that podcast impacted her, how it was something she often shared with the people in her life because she found it so helpful.

I was reminded in that conversations of a few very important things:

  1. I love speaking. I know it’s a gift of mine; and I don’t say that from an ego place, I say that from a grounded sense of just deeply knowing and trusting that we all have gifts and speaking is one of mine. It lights me up, it flows.

  2. I LOVE, more than maybe anything, knowing that my work –whether it be in session with a client or through creative endeavors such as this– impacts people. That it serves as a portal into new possibility, opening a door for new ways of being and moving through life. That’s the juice.

  3. I realized that though the podcast used to require a lot of my then-capacity, I have done so much work to grow the limits of my capacity since then. I am more resourced than I have every been. And also, I’ve been working very hard, for years at this point, to feel and live into what it’s like to let things be easeful; to keep it simle(r), to not have to get it perfect, to just do it and settle into “good enough.”

So here we are, 8 years later, with a new audio offering. My hope is this podcast fills you up as much as the topics we’ll be talking about do, me.

I am hopeful that Substack as a home for this pod allows me to weave my love for speaking and writing together, that is allows me to keep the tech simple on the back-end, that it is a place for you to stay connected so you don’t miss an episode (b/c yay, you can subscribe and get email notifications) and that it also serves as an off-social media place for me to share about all the things somatic.

If you’re new to Substack, WELCOME!! There are so many other talented writers and creators in this space, and may this also be an invitation for you to explore others making really cool art in many forms.

I hope you enjoy this first episode, and that you’ll stick around for many more ♡ If you like what you’re seeing/ hearing, be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss a beat.

Until next time,
xo
