There are many, many good reasons to feel burnt out right now, or feel yourself creeping towards the edge of what feels like total shutdown. I won’t list them, you’re familiar.
But, having all the valid reasons doesn’t usually help us repair and take care inside of burnout. Sometimes having that intellectual awareness of why we’re burnt out just adds to the weight of the burnout itself and all the feelings held inside of it.
So– how do we go about meeting burnout in ways that are doable, sustainable, and responsive? What’s really going on in the nervous system when we find ourselves in burnout? And how do we begin to resolve the inner tension that builds inside as we find ourselves in the position of feeling like we can’t go on but we must?
This episode explores all of that, and breaks it down in ways that will help you to better understand the wisdom of your nervous system’s burnout response, and support you to actually meet the needs of your system rather than approach healing burnout from a place of “fixing” or “doing to” yourself.
